The Clinic

  • Specialist Certification in Sleep Medicine: At present time there is no recognizable specialist certification in the field. We fully satisfy requirements to practice as set in the COPSO Parameters of Practice.
  • Practice Procedure: All patients are clinically evaluated prior to the procedure, in order to determine the suitability for the test. Sleep Disorder Investigative Center's responsibility extends beyond positive or negative diagnosis of Obstructive Sleep Apnea.
  • Expansion of Sleep Medicine: Is attributed to advancements in computer technology and wide public awareness of the significance of the disorder. The population need for diagnosis and treatment of sleep disorders will never be fully served by the academic centers only.
  • Balance in the Field of Sleep Medicine: Sleep Medicine is coming of age by achieving the same principal and balance that has been long established between academic and clinical practitioners. Sleep Disorder Investigative Center's main objective is to help shorten the delay of serving sick patients in a timely manner without any compromise of high quality care.
  • Sleep Technician Staff: Our staff includes registered technologists with RPSGT qualification and fully trained and certified technologists with Master Degree in Health Science, Registered Respiratory Therapist and Bachelor of Science Degrees. Members of staff have completed and fulfilled training requirements.
  • Equipment: This is a fully computerized facility with modern amplifiers, infrared cameras, oximeters, CPAP and BIPAP machines. Our system is used by a number of academic sleep centers in the Province. We constantly upgrade our equipment.
Medical Director and Principal Physician:
Wagdy Botros, M.D., MBBCh, DPM (UK), MRC Psych., FRCP (C)

The following is to inform you about some unique aspects of our service and Clinic in general.  Our Medical Service includes investigative evaluation overnight sleep study (polysomnograph) as well as clinical assessment by Qualified Specialists (American Board of Sleep Medicine) to consider all aspects of possible differential diagnosis and comorbidity in the management of Sleep Condition.

This component of service was found to be lacking in some IHF Facilities, particularly those with no Physicians identified either in letterhead or referral form.

Our service is delivered in a timely manner due in very large part to the fact that scoring and interpretation is done in house with highly qualified Registered Technicians (no outsourcing).

For the last few years, we have been consistently chosen as a respected centre to carry out a number of clinical drug treatment trials in this region based in very large part on quality of our work as well as credentials and independence of this clinic.

Our attention to Patient care is paramount, prompt with no answering machine between 9:00am and 5:00pm Monday through Friday.

We will be happy to provide further information if required.

In the meantime, please find an updated referral form for this Clinic.
